Gifting Partners

One of our goals is to promote organizations that support wellbeing, particularly those who integrate fiber with social and environmental causes.  Each year we plan to partner with 2 organizations to share proceeds from our sales.

We are delighted to introduce our first gifting partners, Paws for Humanity -- an animal sanctuary (with alpacas!!) providing animal assisted therapy and community education; and Knit the Rainbow, Inc. -- a nonprofit organization whose mission is to collect handmade knit and crochet winter garments and distribute them to houseless and at-risk LGBTQ+ youth around the nation.

We were introduced to Beth Bollenbach, the co-founder of Paws for Humanity, from our friend and natural dye coach, Jean Haley.  Beth was interested in dyeing yarn made from their alpacas and wanted to keep the process close to nature. Jean graciously connected us.  We are excited to not only collaborate with Beth for this project, but to also highlight her organization as a gifting partner for our first year.  You can learn more about Paws for Humanity by visiting their website https://pawsforhumanity.org/.

We first learned about Knit the Rainbow when Michelle saw the founder, Austin Rivers, being interviewed on a podcast in 2020. We are delighted to highlight this organization as their mission of supporting homeless LGBTQ youth is of great personal importance to both of us. Michelle’s brother lives with severe mental illness and was homeless for a portion of his life, and we both have family in the LGBTQ community. You can learn more about Knit the Rainbow by visiting their website www.knittherainbow.org and following them on social media.
